IRRV Qualification Pages

The IRRV’s professional and certificate qualifications are widely recognised and respected by employers, and are key to a successful career and promotion in revenues and benefits administration.

IRRV launches a new Apprenticeship framework!

What is an apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications

Who is it for?  Anyone who is not in full-time education and above 16 years and above

Who provides training?  Employers can use external training providers or provide some of the training in-house.

How much does the apprenticeship cost? For apprentices aged 16 -19, all training costs are met by the government. For apprentices aged 19+, the employer will be expected to pay a contribution towards the training costs, although in some cases this can be funded if special conditions are met. The employer is expected to meet the cost of the apprentices’ wages.

How long will it take? Typically the level 3 apprenticeship can be gained in around 12-18 months.

What is the format? Apprenticeship frameworks are the gold standard (see link below)

What are the benefits?

For employers:

• improve productivity and profitability

• fill skills gaps now and in the future

• become more attractive as an employer

• government funded training

• improve levels of service

QCF

09/11/2010 / 1267

The IRRV has been approved to award nationally recognised competence-based qualifications in Housing and Council Tax Benefits and Local Taxation. The IRRV is the only awarding body offering these qualifications

These qualifications enable Revenues and Benefits Officers to demonstrate that they are professionally competent. Once registered with a Centre that delivers the qualifications candidates would become 'QCF candidate members' of the IRRV.  This entitles them to the full range of IRRV services and, on completion of their QCF qualification, become eligible for election as IRRV Technician members and progression to the IRRV Full Professional Qualification.
