N/SVQ Qualifications in Housing Benefits and Local Taxation

The IRRV has been approved to award nationally recognised competence-based qualifications in Housing and Council Tax Benefits and Local Taxation. The IRRV is the only awarding body offering these qualifications

These qualifications enable Revenues and Benefits Officers to demonstrate that they are professionally competent. Once registered with a Centre that delivers the qualifications candidates would become 'NVQ/SVQ candidate members' of the IRRV.  This entitles them to the full range of IRRV services and, on completion of their NVQ or SVQ, become eligible for election as IRRV Technician members and progression to the IRRV Full Professional Qualification.

Assessment centres for the Housing & Council Tax Benefits and Local Taxation qualifications have been established by a variety of local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales and by training and consultancy organisations.

For a full list of assessment centres throughout England and Scotland please contact Lindsay Frankland on the number given below.

Anyone interested in the N/SVQs, either as a candidate or representative of a potential assessment centre, should contact:
