This one-day workshop will look at web sites, customer access channels and other digital initiatives for revenues and benefits. With the trend to improve customer service whilst reducing costs the need to look at digital initiatives has never been so important.

The day will include short presentations on implications of good and poor websites, and current trends in the use of the digital agenda within local authorities. Practical exercises and short presentations will allow attendees to participate in the day and provide food for thought on improving their own web sites, digital offerings and use of social media within their own

Course Leader:
The course leader, Simon Bailey, is a qualified freelance IRRV professional who has undertaken several management roles in Local Taxation, Benefits. He has considerable experience in managing and supervising Revenue’s and Benefits Services whilst in local government and as a freelance practitioner. Simon undertakes interim management roles with authorities, assisting them with shared services, outsourcing, performance improvement and successfully implementing IT systems. More recently he has been involved in current and emerging welfare reforms and how they impact on authorities, in particular, the implementation of the Digital by Default agenda. Simon has a keen interest in utilising new technology within Revenues and Benefits. He often delivers papers and is a regular contributor to the IRRV Insight and Benefit Magazines on technology issues.

The fee structure for this series of meetings is as follows:-

The Institute will make every effort to give delegates as much notice as possible of any programme changes or the cancellation / re-scheduling of an event. However, it does reserve the right to make changes to advertised programmes and to cancel / re-schedule events. In the unlikely event of an event being cancelled / re-scheduled, either a full refund will be made or alternatively, any fee paid will be credited against a future booking. The Institute will not be liable for any travel and / or accommodation costs incurred by the attendee should an event be cancelled / re-scheduled.

On receipt of the registration form with purchase order number the IRRV will issue a receipted VAT invoice at the prevailing rate. Payment must be received in advance of the event. The Institute reserves the right to refuse admission where delegate fees have not been paid.

Cancellations made 2 weeks before the meeting will be subject to an administration charge of 50% of the fee plus VAT. Cancellations after this date are liable for the full registration fee. A substitute delegate is welcome at any time at no extra charge.
