The launch of a 'White Paper' on Business Rating Billing
The Institute will be issuing a series of “White Papers” on key challenges facing local government revenues and benefits administration in partnership with key stakeholders.
The White Paper is being published in partnership with Critiqom, the leading organisation for the delivery of end to end data, print, post and multichannel services. Critiqom works with over 70 Local Authorities and over 40 Financial Service organisations. The paper is the first in a series of strategic documents which are designed to assist local government to meet the challenges of the next five years and will inform the debate on the efficient and effective delivery of front line services.
The paper is entitled “Business Rates Billing” has been developed by Critiqom and the Institute and is intended offer a solution to the issue of multiple billing to major non-domestic ratepayers. This particular matter was raised in the Governments consultation document on the administration of non-domestic rates. Subsequently it has been the subject of debate in a working party created by the DCLG which has yet to reach a conclusion on this important process.
The White paper will be launched on Friday 4th September 2015 at Church House Conference Centre, Dean’s Yard, Westminster, London SW1P 3NZ at 11am.
