Summary of Submission

Basildon Council and Brentwood Council have a shared Revenues and Benefits service working as one team.  Underpinning our shared service is a commitment to driving efficiencies and seeking out innovation, new technology and new ways of working.    
 
We have integrated innovative IT solutions into our day to day processes, transforming our working practises through automation.  We have increased output by reducing waste and working more efficiently.  We have minimised fraud and error, our tax-bases are more accurate and additional income has been generated.  In addition we have made significant financial savings by removing the associated staff costs of one full time officer.   
 
We have always been a forward thinking service and an early adopter of the use of technology to improve working practises and the customer journey.  We embrace new technology whilst reviewing relevant procedures and processes.
