December 2020 Examinations
The deadline for enrolment has now passed.
Due to the ongoing pandemic and the need to maintain social distancing, all of the examination venues, which the IRRV usually use for each exam sitting, are no longer available / suitable. In light of this, a communication was sent to all candidates to advise them that the December examination sitting will be held in each student's workplace, where students are able to arrange this locally. They need a suitable room and the availability of a senior officer i.e. a Manager, Team Leader or HR representative, at their authority, to be the invigilator for the examination(s).
The majority of candidates and their employers have welcomed this opportunity as it allows students to progress with their course in a safer environment, with less travel issues to contend with. For those who cannot accommodate this option, the candidate has the option to defer, at no cost, to the next available sitting in 2021.
For those enrolled to sit an examination in December, invoices for examination fees and any outstanding membership fees will be issued to employers once the final list of candidates are known. This is currently being finalised. As you will appreciate, this changes on a regular basis in light of local Covid-19 local lockdown restrictions being implemented.
The Qualifications Management Board, who oversee the examinations process, are meeting on a regular basis and will shortly be approving the revised examination guidance and instructions to workplace invigllators.
Communications will be issued to keep everyone informed of the latest position in regard to the December examinations. Student and staff safety is paramount. If the Government decide to instigate a full national lockdown nearer to the examination date, we will, of course, review the situation and make a decision at that time as to whether the December examinations will proceed.
