Debt management is everywhere we look, from how we collect revenue to how we support the most vulnerable people in society. This seminar will include a session on the merging together of districts and county councils into a single unitary council with the challenges of consolidating differing debt strategies and the political and social considerations at play. Followed by that, we will be discussing the pressures to deliver vital services against ever tightening budgets and how Birmingham is approaching debt collection in light of their S114 notice. Finally, we'll take a look ahead to the next five years for those in poverty and what those in Government (both Central and Local) can do about it, while offering a critique on the policies of the three main political parties as we move into an election year and how they will impact on those in need.
